Anyone can be affected by depression. It can impact every aspect of one’s life including our relationships. Those living with depression or anxiety often experience feelings of loneliness, even when they have a supporting and loving spouse. When depressed, one’s interpretation of things tends to be harsher than reality. There are ways to help ease these episodes and times of struggle for one’s self and the relationship.
In this episode I have a conversation with Dr. Juan Santos. Dr. Santos specializes in healing and rebuilding relationships. He supports couples with increasing intimacy, rebuilding trust after infidelity, and teaching couples how to build effective communication skills so that both partners feel heard and validated. Dr. Santos was born in the Dominican Republic and lives in Greensboro, NC with his wife and two children. He is the owner of Santos Counseling PLLC an outpatient counseling practice providing individual, family, and couples counseling. Dr. Santos is an author, course creator, and speaker. His work has been featured on local news stations that include Huff Post, News 2 WFMY, 102.1, community agencies, and local universities.
“Depression can be seen as a separate entity, rather than being part of one’s personality.
